
Onigiri Odyssey
A downloadable game
This is a mock game level made as a final project for my DIG 2783 Game Art class
I created the Miso Marshes level in my Onigiri Odyssey game. I coded a functioning main menu that brings the player to the Miso Marshes level when clicking the play button. Clicking the exit button will close the application.
Falling out of the world will cause the player to lose a full heart. At the end of the level, there is an enemy that, if the player makes contact, will remove half a heart from the player.
I did not create the asset for the Miso Marshes enemy, so I used the sprite I have for Chef Tempura as a substitute for the time being. I have also implemented the idling animation for him.
The player also has a double jump ability, shown on the hotbar that will deactivate once the player uses it. Upon touching the ground, the player will recharge the ability.
Holding shift will cause the character to sprint and have a faster movement speed.
The character has both functioning idling and walking animations.
Clicking on the pause button on the top right will open up the pause menu, which also pauses the entire game. Clicking resume will resume the game and clicking the main menu button will take the player to the main menu screen.
Currently, the player's stamina bar and the settings in the pause menu are not implemented.
